From Italy to Portugal with love.

What a delight it was meeting and photographing this beautiful Italian family that now call Portugal home. This sweet session took place in my favourite neighbourhood in Lisboa. Alfama was basically the birth place of Fado music and strolling through these streets at night, you’re bound to hear the beautiful voice of a Fadista singing songs of love, loss and life. Last year when I first visited Lisboa (after a 33 year hiatus), I fell head of heels in love with this magical part of the city and instantly knew where my first photography session would take place.

I met this adorable family in a Lisbon Parent group page on Facebook. Before arriving in Lisbon, I posted on this page requesting 3 families to photograph. The response I received was over whelming and exciting. It was especially sweet connecting with these families.

Guilia and her family were an absolute delight to photograph. My cheeks were hurting by the end of the session because I couldn’t stop smiling with this family. Lil E was quite the mover and it was quite the workout keeping up with his adventurous spirit. That being said, it’s little kiddos like him that keep my sessions as authentic as possible. I strive to photograph life as it happens because years from now, parents can look back and remember their babes exactly as they once were. As for mom and dad, it was especially endearing seeing these two lovebirds still so wonderfully in love with one another. It was obvious to anyone watching these two that there was an abundance of love, respect and admiration for one another. Anyone would agree that raising a child can be tiring but I have always believed that a great foundation and the love between parents is pivotal. You guys rock!

Thank you so much Giulia for allowing me the opportunity to capture some memories for you and your family. It was an absolute delight and my heart is still smiling.
